Syona Spa Chennai Airport Domestic Terminal Review & Tips

Ever since Salem airport reopened, I’ve flown the SXV–MAA route almost every month, usually using points. I normally visit the TFS Lounge before my flight, but this time I tried something different. I noticed the Syona Spa outlet at Chennai Airport was recently added to the Dreamfolks DragonPass airport wellness program, so I decided to give it a try.

Location

The spa is located airside inside the domestic departure terminal at Chennai Airport. After clearing security, turn right and walk a few meters to reach Syona Spa.

Dreamfolks lists two Syona Spa outlets in the same terminal (west/east), but the spa manager told me the other outlet was still under construction.

Price & Getting Access

  • Paid Access: Syona Spa offers 30, 60 and 90-minute massage options. Standard rates are relatively high, with 30-minute sessions typically starting around 1,000 INR.
  • Complimentary Access: I accessed the spa using a Dreamfolks DragonPass card issued with an ICICI Jet Sapphiro credit card.

The billing counter staff reacted as if Dreamfolks access was still new for them; she mentioned I was only the third visitor or so. Unlike some other airport spas, they used a swipe machine to authenticate my card and the charge slip showed how many complimentary visits remained on the card.

Ambience

The spa is compact with a narrow entrance and dim lighting. Mirrors line several walls, which helps create an impression of space, but the area itself remains small. Overall, the ambience is functional and unremarkable.

Service

For complimentary Dreamfolks access, you can choose one of three 30-minute sessions:

  • Foot reflexology
  • Head, face, neck and shoulder massage
  • Upper or lower back massage

I chose the head/face/neck/shoulder massage. The therapist was professional, but the treatment felt merely satisfactory rather than exceptional.

Syona Spa at Chennai Airport

Bottomline

In summary, Syona Spa at Chennai Airport is an average airport wellness outlet. It provides a convenient short break before a flight, but don’t expect a deep relaxation experience like you might get at a full-service spa. The outlet is fairly new, so offerings and service may improve over time.

If you hold a Dreamfolks card and are flying out of MAA, you might prefer to save complimentary visits for larger airport spas, though trying Syona once for the experience is reasonable.
