HDFC Bank has rolled out spend-based offers for select credit card members in January 2020, similar to the promotions they ran during the Diwali season. Below are the key details of these targeted offers.

HDFC Spend-Based Offer Details
- Offer 1: Spend Rs.X in January 2020 to receive a voucher worth Rs.Y.
- Offer 2: Spend Rs.XX each month for three months (January, February and March 2020) to receive a voucher worth Rs.YY.
One offer is a single-month promotion for January while the other is a quarterly offer covering three months, mirroring the approach HDFC used during Diwali. These targeted campaigns appear to be effective for the bank.
I received the first offer on my Infinia card. The targeted spend incentive alone delivers about 3.3% value, on top of the card’s regular rewards. Combined, the total return on spend reaches roughly 6.6%, which is an excellent uplift.

Bottomline
It’s encouraging to see HDFC Bank offering regular spend-based promotions on credit cards. Fulfillment has improved recently, with rewards and vouchers being credited on time more often than before.
These offers deliver meaningful returns across many HDFC cards. Premium cards such as Infinia and Diners Club Black tend to benefit the most. Diners Club Black is particularly attractive because cardholders can earn the targeted vouchers in addition to regular reward points and monthly milestone benefits.
In summary, this is a favorable time to hold HDFC premium and super-premium credit cards if you can meet the targeted spends.
