Bengaluru finally has a Moxy hotel near the airport. For years the city—despite its busy international airport—lacked an accessible, modern transit hotel, so the arrival of a Marriott Moxy is good news for travelers seeking convenience without the premium price of full-service luxury properties.
Located approximately ten minutes from Kempegowda International Airport, the new property is named MOXY BENGALURU AIRPORT PRESTIGE TECH CLOUD. It aims to fill the gap between expensive airport luxury and the limited transit options previously available.
Historically, Moxy hotels emphasize design-forward, affordable stays and often focus on social public spaces rather than extensive on-site amenities. That model has meant some Moxy properties simply provide a clean, comfortable room and a lively lobby—perfect for short stays or younger travelers—but not for guests expecting extensive facilities.
However, this first Moxy in India appears to lean toward an upscale interpretation of the brand. Early indications suggest the Bengaluru property could offer a more polished experience than many Moxy hotels in Europe or North America. In India, Marriott’s midscale brands sometimes arrive with a more refined finish compared with equivalent properties abroad, and this hotel seems to follow that pattern.
Bengaluru already has a Taj property near the airport, but its rates tend to be high, making it less practical as a quick transit option. While the Taj provides a luxury experience for those who want it, a mid-market choice like Moxy addresses a different need: affordable, convenient stays for short layovers, early flights, or quick business trips.
Until now, Marriott loyalists in the city have mainly relied on Courtyard Bengaluru Hebbal for short stays. With Moxy’s arrival, that traffic is likely to be distributed between the two brands, offering guests more choice depending on their budget and preferences.
If you have a bit more time and want a different experience, consider nearby resort-style alternatives like JW Marriott Prestige Golfshire or Mulberry Shades Bengaluru Nandi Hills—both managed under Marriott’s portfolio and operated by the same local partner, Prestige Group. From personal experience, these properties deliver strong value for points and are excellent options for leisure stays outside the city.
Prestige Group appears committed to expanding its relationship with Marriott. Several recent openings and projects show Prestige increasingly partnering with Marriott brands across India, including Tribute Portfolio properties. This growth suggests travelers can expect more Marriott-branded choices in the region in the coming years.
MOXY BENGALURU AIRPORT PRESTIGE TECH CLOUD officially opened on 15 January 2024. At launch, room rates were listed around INR 13,000 plus GST. As of now, Marriott Bonvoy point redemptions are not yet available for this hotel.
When Bonvoy redemptions do go live, a sensible expectation would be a range of roughly 8,000 to 12,000 points per night, though exact category placement will determine the final cost. If redemption pricing exceeds that band significantly, the value proposition for point redemptions may be weaker.
More Moxy openings across India are planned, so travelers can expect additional affordable and design-focused options in the near future.
