On World Tourism Day 2021 (September 27), IndusInd Bank introduced a premium co-branded airline credit card with Vistara called the “Club Vistara IndusInd Bank Explorer Credit Card.” Below is a clear, concise overview of the card’s features, benefits, and some commentary on value for frequent travelers.

Some specifics around the joining fee presentation and full welcome benefit details were initially unclear, but updates indicate the welcome benefit includes the business class ticket, Vistara Gold tier for the first year, and the choice between an Oberoi one-night stay or ₹25,000 in voucher value.
The Vistara Gold membership applies for the first year only; renewal of the tier will follow Vistara’s standard terms and conditions.
Value assessment
For high spenders, the card can deliver meaningful value. If you reach the top milestone (₹15 lakh annual spend), the combination of business class vouchers and reward points can translate to a roughly 7–8% effective return, assuming conservative valuations for vouchers and point redemptions.
However, the initial joining fee as published (₹47,200 inclusive of GST) positions this card at the high end of the market. For many premium cardholders, that fee may feel excessive unless you specifically value the Oberoi voucher or expect to redeem multiple milestone business class tickets.
If the issuer offered a lower entry price (for example around ₹25,000 without the hotel voucher), adoption would likely be stronger among the premium segment. At the current published price, extracting maximum value typically requires choosing the Oberoi one-night stay or aggressively using the card to trigger multiple milestone benefits.
As an example, a one-night stay at The Oberoi Vanyavilas Wildlife Resort, Ranthambore can cost around ₹50,000; redeeming the offered voucher against such a rate can justify some of the entry cost. Exact inclusions and exclusions for the hotel voucher are subject to the card’s terms and conditions and should be confirmed before assuming full value.
Relative to competing products, the Axis Vistara Infinite card still represents strong value for many customers, particularly when promotional first-year fee waivers are available. IndusInd’s Explorer card does offer distinct advantages such as no forex markup, which may be valuable to frequent international travelers.
A detailed review will follow once the issuer clarifies remaining T&Cs and fee variants. For now, the Explorer card is an attractive option for travelers who prioritize business class vouchers, premium hotel stays, and no foreign currency markup—provided they can justify the upfront fee.
