Axis Bank has recently enhanced the benefits on its MAGNUS credit card after about two months of onboarding customers onto the Visa Infinite platform.
These updated benefits will be active for all Magnus cards starting 1st Feb 2022. Below is a concise summary of what’s new and noteworthy.
- Monthly Milestone Benefit: Earn 25,000 reward points on monthly spends of INR 100,000 (equivalent to INR 5,000 value, roughly a 5% return).
- Accelerated Rewards: 5X points on travel bookings made via Travel Edge (around 6% value).
- International Lounge Access: Unlimited access through Priority Pass; guest access remains limited to eight, unchanged from before.
The monthly milestone benefit is a significant upgrade for Magnus cardholders. With this feature, if you spend INR 100,000 in a calendar month (excluding wallet loads), you can earn 25,000 points, bringing the effective rewards rate on that spend to about 6.2%. This is an impressive standard feature that meaningfully boosts the card’s value.
With these changes, the Magnus card now competes strongly with HDFC’s super-premium offerings on regular rewards rates.
If Axis chooses to further enhance travel earnings—for example, increasing Travel Edge rewards from 5X to 10X or more—Magnus would be an even more compelling option thanks to its attractive redemption options and the absence of restrictive redemption rules that some competitors impose.
Note: For new cardholders, the monthly milestone benefit will start from the first day of the month following the card issuance date.
