I was waiting for IDFC First Bank credit card offers to appear on my IDFC First Select credit card, and I’m pleased one arrived before the close of 2021.
This is a small but attractive New Year targeted offer you shouldn’t miss if you received it. It’s simple to complete and delivers good value for minimal effort.

- Min. Spend: Rs.100 per transaction
- Min. transactions to take: 5 transactions (depends on the offer)

In my case (variant #3), the requirement was simply to spend Rs.100 in five separate transactions anywhere with no category restrictions. That completed the offer.
This is an easy way to earn roughly Rs.1,250 worth of reward points for a minimum outlay of Rs.500—an unusually generous promotion.
Note that the minimum total spend required is low, yet the reward value exceeds the base spend. Whoever designed this deserves credit for a consumer-friendly promotion.
To avoid potential monitoring triggers, try to make natural purchases rather than repetitive micro-transactions like reloading wallets multiple times in small amounts. Make normal purchases so your activity looks organic.
Bottomline
It’s encouraging to see IDFC Bank increasing focus on credit card offers after several debit-card-focused promotions earlier in the year.
I hope IDFC continues and expands such targeted credit card promotions with higher rewards for premium cardholders, faster fulfilment, and diverse offers.
I regard IDFC First cards as underrated through 2021 and likely into 2022. If you don’t already have an IDFC First credit card, this might be a good time to consider applying.
