This is a solid promotion for premium cardholders: earning 3X reward points on PayZapp transactions can translate into roughly 10% value on cards with higher reward valuations. The clear strengths are the elevated earning rate and relatively quick fulfilment of bonus points.
There are some limitations to note. The maximum cap of 1,500 bonus points reduces the impact for higher spenders, and PayZapp itself enforces a separate limit that prevents spending more than Rs. 1 lakh per card per month through the app. These constraints mean heavy users will hit ceilings quickly and should plan accordingly.
HDFC has run stronger multipliers in the past—offers that delivered 5X points or higher—but those typically came with more generous caps or different conditions. If you missed earlier promotions, this 3X offer is still worthwhile for routine purchases that meet the minimum spend and sit outside the excluded categories.
