HDFC Credit Card 10X Rewards Program Update – June 2019

August 2019 Changes is now live: Checkout the latest update here

Update for July 2019: Both SmartBuy & Diners 10X partners are extended till July end. We might see fresh version from Aug 2019

It’s good to know the 10X benefit on HDFC credit cards still exists, but it’s disappointing that HDFC hasn’t kept its website updated promptly. That delay reduces clarity for cardholders and makes it harder to track ongoing offers.

HDFC has introduced a consolidated portal for premium and super-premium cards, which should help if the content is maintained regularly. Below is a clear summary of the latest changes so you can quickly see what matters.

Table of Contents

  • Smartbuy 10X Offer
  • Diners 10X Offer
  • Bottomline

Smartbuy 10X Offer

img 7606 2
  • Validity: 1st June 2019 – 30th June 2019
  • Upper Cap: Infinia: 25,000 points | Diners Black: 15,000 points | Other Diners cards & Regalia: 5,000 points | All other cards: 5% cashback up to Rs. 1,000
  • Upper Cap Reset: Calendar month
  • This covers: Flights, hotels and Flipkart/Amazon purchases via SmartBuy
  • Reward points or cashback will be posted within 90 working days from the last date of the transaction month
  • Offer T&C

This change is notable but not catastrophic. Premium cardholders retain the 10X benefit while many non-premium cardholders now receive 5% cashback instead of 10X points. It narrows the gap between tiers, encouraging upgrades for those seeking higher rewards.

Diners 10X Offer

img 7606 3
  • Extended till: 30th June 2019
  • Brands: Tata CLiQ, Swiggy, BigBasket, Uber, BookMyShow, SOTC, Furlenco, Treebo Hotels
  • Upper Cap: Diners Rewardz: Rs. 2,000 equivalent | Diners ClubMiles/Premium: Rs. 5,000 equivalent | Diners Black: Rs. 25,000 equivalent
  • Upper Cap Reset: Statement cycle
  • Points posting: Points will be credited in the next statement cycle

Diners cardholders continue to benefit from a strong partner list. The tiered caps mean Diners Black users can still earn substantial monthly points when combining SmartBuy and Diners partner spends.

Bottomline

In short, the 10X program remains active but with adjusted caps and differentiated treatment by card tier. Infinia and Diners Black enjoy the highest caps, while many other cards now get 5% cashback through SmartBuy instead of 10X points. If you hold Diners Black and maximize both SmartBuy and Diners partner categories, you could still accumulate a large number of points each month.

These updates show a gradual shift toward privileging top-tier cards. Keep an eye on HDFC’s portal for any further changes, and review offer terms before planning large spends. What do you think about these changes to the HDFC 10X rewards program? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
