Maximize Rewards: SBI Card Spend Offers Up to 23% Back

SBICard has been sending spend-based offers to a selected group of customers for a long time, but I hadn’t received any for about 1.5 years. Recently, however, I started getting spend-based offer emails on my SBI Simply Click Credit Card.

I received two offers — the second arrived after I completed the first. This article summarizes my experience redeeming them.

These offers share the same terms and conditions provided by SBICard.

My Experience Redeeming the Gift

I chose the first offer and completed the required transactions. Exactly 45 days after the offer ended, I received a redemption link. The fulfillment was handled by Gift Ease, which provided a dedicated SBI landing page to claim the gift.

About ten days after redeeming, the headphones arrived at my home. The design and color were average, and unfortunately one side of the headphones did not work. That meant I received a defective unit as part of the promotion.

After two follow-ups, the vendor accepted a replacement request and arranged for pickup. I am currently waiting for the replacement and will update once I receive it.

Bottom Line

Spend-based promos like these can offer very high effective reward rates — in this case roughly 23% for the headphone and 10% for the power bank. Those numbers make the offers attractive, but it’s important to consider whether you actually want or need the item outside the promotion. If you wouldn’t buy the product at full price, the headline reward rate is less meaningful.

There’s also a quality risk with promotional items, as my defective headphone demonstrated. While vendors may replace faulty items, the experience can include delays and extra effort.

Overall, spend-based promotions can add significant value to SBI cards, so it’s sensible to keep an SBI card in your wallet if these deals align with your spending patterns. Cards like SBI Prime or SBI Elite can be especially useful depending on your lifestyle.
