If you travel business class from Kolkata and prefer a quieter, more comfortable space than the crowded lounges, The Irish House premium lounge is a welcome option. I visited this newly opened lounge recently and here’s a concise, user-friendly review of my experience.

Overview
| Type | Premium Airport Lounge |
| Card accepted | Priority Pass & business passengers |
| Location | Follow lounge signboard & take left from TFS lounge |
| Plug points | Yes |
| Ambiance | Attractive interiors & spacious |
| Food options | Decent, freshly stocked spread |
This lounge stands out among options at Kolkata Airport: quieter, cleaner and better stocked than the nearby TFS lounge. If you can access it, it’s worth choosing over more crowded alternatives.
Location
Signage at the terminal often points toward the Travel Club Lounge. The Irish House is on the same level. Follow the signs to Travel Club, then take a left after the entrance and walk a short distance. The Irish House will be on your right.
Check-in
I used Priority Pass through my HDFC Infinia card to enter. The lounge typically serves business class passengers and airline crew. Because the airside area is shared by domestic and international flights, you may see international crew members here at times. I also observed guests using other lounge memberships to gain access.
Seating & Interiors
The lounge provides a mix of dining tables, standard lounge seating and several comfortable green armchairs that create a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The layout feels spacious, and the interiors are well maintained, making it easy to work or unwind before your flight.
Food
The food selection is comparable to the other lounge I visited the same day, but here the counters were fully stocked and kept clean. Staff were available nearby to assist, which improved the overall experience.
The cuisine is generally good. I particularly enjoyed the uttapam and returned for multiple servings. South Indian dishes are handled well at this lounge; however, note that idli quality tends to vary widely in the region, which is not uncommon outside South India.
Bottom line
- Cardexpert Rating: 4.5/5
This dedicated premium lounge is a strong addition to Kolkata Airport after Bangalore. It ranks among the better airport lounges in India for comfort, food and overall ambience.
One practical limitation: the lounge opens at 8:00 AM. If you have an early morning flight, you may need to use the busier Travel Club Lounge until The Irish House opens.
