If I had to pick a bank that floods inboxes with over 300 promotional emails a year filled with limited-time offers and lengthy terms, it would be ICICI Bank. In the past year the only ICICI promotion I found genuinely worthwhile was their Super Value Day offer with Amazon. Most other promotions include hidden conditions or deliver only minor savings.
I typically delete their promo emails instantly. That said, a new spend-based offer for ICICI’s American Express co-branded cards is worth a closer look.

- Enroll by giving a missed call from your registered mobile number to 7069-577-555
- Make 4 or more purchases of Rs.1,000 or more each month
- Applicable only on American Express co-branded ICICI Bank credit cards
- Dineout voucher will be sent to the registered email ID within 60 working days from the end of each qualifying month
- Offer period: July 17 – June 30, 2018 (extended)
The program appears to have been live since July 2017, and, typically, ICICI notifies customers well after launch. I haven’t used Dineout extensively, but it seems like a useful service if you live in a metro city.
It’s important to note this offer exists because of the involvement of American Express. Amex often awards 1,000 bonus points on its proprietary cards for four monthly transactions of Rs.1,000 each, and this Dineout promotion follows a similar structure.
I enrolled using my ICICI Jet Sapphiro Amex credit card and am looking forward to redeeming the dining vouchers.
Bottomline
Dineout vouchers are a fresh type of reward and a timely move as table-reservation apps face intense competition. Dining vouchers have strong potential in coming years because they can deliver substantial savings—sometimes covering an entire meal rather than just offering a small percentage discount.
Update Sep 2018: I’ve redeemed Dineout vouchers at several restaurants in Chennai and found the process straightforward and convenient. My hands-on experience confirmed the vouchers’ usefulness. I hope Dineout and ICICI (or other banks) run similar offers again.
