Update: This property is no longer operational.
Although there are several better hotels in Coimbatore, I chose Aloft to complete an SPG targeted offer: book two paid stays and get two nights free at category 1–5 properties. Using free nights at category 5 hotels could save a significant amount, and Aloft was also offering a bonus 500 points per stay as part of an “Explore More” promotion. With these incentives, it made sense to take advantage of the deals.

Quick Info: Aloft Coimbatore is a midscale business hotel located about 10 minutes from Coimbatore Airport and close to Fun Republic Mall.
Aloft Coimbatore Booking and Check-in:
- Tariff: Approximately 3,000 INR + GST per night
I booked the Aloft Room for two nights and received a standard room one night and a “splash” room the next. The splash room is essentially the same room with a pool view; the property refers to their swimming pool as “splash.” It looked like suites were being sold at attractive rates, so upgrades were not offered.
On arrival there was no porter available to handle luggage, so I had to park nearby and manage my bags myself. That contrasted with more attentive service I’ve experienced at other hotels, where staff come out to assist immediately.
Aloft Room:
The room was compact with wall-to-wall carpeting. The air conditioning maintained a comfortable temperature by default. The dark grey wall color — a design choice Aloft uses across many properties — did not appeal to me personally. The room did include the expected amenities.
The work table looked neat but proved uncomfortable for extended use; I experienced back discomfort within 30 minutes, likely because I’m accustomed to more ergonomic seating. For business travelers who need to work long hours, the desk setup may not be ideal.

Bathroom:
The bathroom showed signs of mineral deposits around the taps and sink area. Salt or limescale buildup was visible in places, which is something the hotel should address to meet expected cleanliness standards. While this did not ruin the stay, attention to maintenance would improve the guest experience.

Breakfast & More:
Breakfast was served at the restaurant called “dot.yum” and offered a decent spread with a focus on South Indian dishes, as expected for the region. The property uses creative names for facilities — for example, the gym is called “charge” — which adds personality to the brand.
Regarding Wi‑Fi, I typically use mobile data but tested the hotel network: speeds were generally in the 7–14 Mbps range with no obvious usage limits, which is sufficient for browsing, email, and video calls for most business travelers.
Bottomline:
I booked this stay knowing it would be a practical, non-luxurious experience based on prior reviews, so I wasn’t disappointed. For the rate, Aloft Coimbatore is a solid option for short business trips or airport layovers. It’s less suited for travelers seeking a premium leisure experience.
