American Express Adds Accor Points Transfer in the UK

American Express has added ALL Accor as a Membership Rewards transfer partner for eligible cardholders in the UK, a welcome development for travellers who book stays across Accor’s global portfolio. This new option allows UK-based Amex members to convert Membership Rewards points into ALL Accor Reward points and redeem them for hotel stays at Accor brands worldwide.

Transfer Ratio

The published transfer rate for this partnership is:

  • 300 Membership Rewards points = 100 ALL Accor Reward points

Transfers can be started via the Membership Rewards portal and will be subject to the usual terms and conditions. At this conversion level, the implied value per Membership Rewards point can be as low as £0.0066, which is considerably weaker than the common 1:1 transfer options available to many airline partners in the UK market.

Availability Outside the UK

Currently, the Amex–ALL Accor transfer link is limited to certain American Express card products issued in the UK. The partnership has not yet been rolled out for Amex cardholders in India.

American Express has been adding Accor as a transfer partner in other regions, with different ratios in market launches such as Australia (5:1), New Zealand (5:1) and South Korea (3.5:1). Those precedents suggest India could see the option in future, but timing and conversion rates remain uncertain.

What This Means for India

The addition of Accor as a transfer partner would be especially useful in India, where options have narrowed after Axis Bank removed Accor and several hotel partners. For Indian Amex cardholders, a favourable transfer ratio would restore an attractive redemption pathway for hotel stays.

However, the commercial realities behind such partnerships mean Amex may not offer a highly generous conversion rate. If a poor ratio similar to some recent launches were applied in India, the value for redeeming Membership Rewards via Accor would be limited. Conversely, a more competitive ratio — for example around 3:1 — combined with reasonable transfer caps, would provide meaningful utility, particularly for premium Amex cardholders who value hotel redemptions.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the UK launch is a positive step for travellers who use Amex Membership Rewards and stay with Accor brands. For markets like India, the potential benefit depends entirely on whether American Express expands the partnership and on the transfer ratio it chooses to offer. A generous or moderate ratio would make ALL Accor a compelling option once again; an unfavourable rate would limit its appeal.
