Bangalore’s popular premium airport lounge, previously known as the Above Ground Level Lounge, was closed for more than a year. It has now reopened in the same location as the 080 Lounge — a name derived from Bangalore’s STD code.
This review covers the 080 Lounge at domestic departures. There is also a separate 080 Lounge at international departures, continuing the previous arrangement.
Both lounges are owned by the airport and operated by TFS, the company that manages many lounge and dining outlets across Indian airports.

This is one of the best airport lounges in Bangalore and a top contender among lounges in India.
Location
Follow the lounge signboards that lead to the entrance shared with the BLR lounge (accessible via many cards) and the premium 080 Lounge. From that entrance, take the escalator or the nearby lift up to the mezzanine floor where the premium lounge is located.
Complimentary Access
The following cards and programs currently provide complimentary access to the 080 Lounge at domestic departures:
- American Express Platinum Travel Card (limited period offers may apply)
- Selected other American Express cards
- Priority Pass (note conditions below)
- IndusInd Bank Debit Cards (Signature/Infinite)
- Other premium card programs as listed by the lounge
Access policies may change over time and are generally limited to premium cardholders.
Caution: Many Priority Pass cards issued in India charge a fee (typically around $27 per visit) for domestic lounge access. Exceptions include Priority Passs issued with certain premium cards such as HDFC Infinia and Citi Prestige.
Check-in
The check-in area has multiple counters and, during visits, queues were minimal. Presenting a qualifying card typically grants entry within a minute or so.
Seating and Interiors
The lounge is expansive and thoughtfully zoned, offering modern design and quiet, comfortable spaces.
A large dining area sits beside the buffet, with many tables for individual or group dining. The lounge includes varied seating arrangements — lounge chairs, dining tables, and areas with convenient plug points for charging devices.
For passengers who need to work, the lounge provides dedicated workspaces with desks and modern seating. There are also enclosed areas suitable for video calls or focused work.
A small library area with comfortable chairs provides a quiet spot to relax or read.
There is also a mini-theatre area with a large screen. At the time of the visit it primarily showed cricket, though staff indicated plans to enable streaming and remote control in the future.
Coming soon: A VIP section behind the check-in counter was closed during the visit. It is planned to open as an à-la-carte area, likely for business class travellers, and may include a live cooking station.
One small absence compared with the old Above Ground Level Lounge is the lack of reclining chairs.
Food
Food in the lounge is extensive and well prepared. The buffet offers a wide range of dishes, from mains to desserts, along with fresh fruit, juices and aerated beverages. Mocktails are available for an extra charge.
During the visit, the reviewer sampled many items and found the quality comparable to, or better than, certain high-end hotel buffets. Staff were attentive and cleared plates promptly.
Bottom line
- Cardexpert Rating: 5/5
The 080 Lounge offers a luxurious environment, excellent food and a variety of dedicated spaces for dining, working and relaxing. Time can pass quickly here thanks to the many areas to explore.
Occupancy may vary: early visits showed low crowding, while later visits recorded higher occupancy, which can affect the atmosphere though food quality and service remained strong.
Overall, the lounge combines a lavish buffet, comfortable seating, workspaces and entertainment areas, making it one of the best domestic airport lounges in India.
