If you regularly travel through Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2 on domestic routes, you may already know the large 080 Lounge. Within that space, however, there is a smaller VIP section that offers a quieter, more comfortable experience for those who prefer less crowd and more privacy.
I visited this VIP area several times since 2024. Below is an updated, concise guide to the lounge, what to expect, and how to access it.

Check-in
Check-in for the VIP section takes place at the same reception desk used for the 080 Lounge. Staff will note eligible cards on the slip and verify it again at the VIP entrance. They will then direct you to the dedicated VIP area.
Seating Area
The VIP section features attractive central decor and pleasant lighting that creates a relaxed atmosphere. Seating is arranged more like a dining area than a typical lounge, with multiple tables and comfortable chairs suited for short waits or working quietly before a flight.
On my visits the VIP area was rarely crowded, often with just a table or two occupied. That low footfall contributes to the calm environment and makes it a good option for passengers seeking peace before departure.
Food
Because the VIP area currently receives limited traffic, hot food is not prepared inside this section. Guests can use the buffet in the main 080 Lounge for hot meals. The VIP space does provide a selection of cold desserts and light snacks, and hot service may be introduced if visitor numbers increase.
Drinks
Initially the VIP area offered only tea, coffee, and biscuits. During a visit in December 2025, I noticed the introduction of one complimentary drink per guest. A drinks voucher is issued and a modest menu of options, including mocktails, is available.
Lounge Access
Access policies have evolved since the lounge opened. For nearly a year it accepted only ICICI Bank Emeralde credit cards, but in recent visits I observed a broader set of eligible cards. The list below reflects what I saw at the time; eligibility can change and should be confirmed with the lounge or card issuer before travel.
- BOBCard: Eterna Credit Card (lifetime free offer)
- ICICI Bank: Emeralde, Emeralde Private, Times Black, and Private Banking debit holders
- Yes Bank: Yes Private; Premia, First, Apex & Eclectic (debit)
- DBS: Vantage; Easemytrip & Signature (debit)
- Equitas: Elite (debit)
The above list was compiled from photos of cards accepted at the lounge; access rules may be updated without notice.
I have used the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Credit Card to enter multiple times and found the process smooth and reliable.
Final Thoughts
The Courtyard Club VIP section at KIAL Terminal 2 is a good choice for travelers who prefer a peaceful pre-flight environment. While hot meals currently come from the main 080 Lounge, the comfortable seating, low occupancy, and the addition of a complimentary drink make this area appealing when your card qualifies for access.
If you prioritize calm and comfort over a wide food selection, this VIP area delivers. With more cards being granted access, it will be worth watching whether the space remains as quiet in the future.
