Earn 5X Rewards on Jewellery Purchases with HDFC Bank Credit Cards

HDFC Bank has returned with a Dhanteras jewellery offer similar to last year’s promotion. Cardholders using HDFC credit and debit cards can earn bonus rewards on jewellery purchases during the festive window. Below is a clear summary of the offer so you can quickly see what’s available.

HDFC Offers on Jewellery:

HDFC is running three distinct incentives for jewellery purchases. These are the details:

  • Common Offer: Earn 5X reward points (up to 5,000) on eligible credit card spends, or receive Rs. 1,000 cashback on debit card transactions.
  • Tanishq Offer: Save up to Rs. 10,000 on a total spend of Rs. 2.5 lakh at participating outlets.
  • Reliance Jewels Offer: Get 10% cashback up to Rs. 2,500 on a minimum transaction of Rs. 10,000 at participating Reliance Jewels stores.
  • Source

Of these, the 5X reward points option delivers the strongest benefit for premium cardholders. If you hold top-tier HDFC cards such as Diners Club Black or Infinia, the effective value from rewards on jewellery purchases can approach an approximate 16.5% return on spend. Cardholders with other HDFC credit cards will also see a meaningful uplift compared with standard earning rates.

According to last year’s experience, bonus rewards were credited without major issues for most cardholders, so similar smooth fulfillment can be expected this year. As always, keep transaction receipts and monitor your card statement for the bonus posting timeline.

Bottomline

This year’s offer remains attractive, but HDFC has reduced the maximum benefit compared with 2018. The bonus multiplier was halved from 10X to 5X, and the maximum bonus points dropped from 10,000 to 5,000. Despite these reductions, the promotion still compares favorably to offers from many other issuers and is worth considering if you plan a jewellery purchase during the festival.
