Get Up to 100,000 Reward Points with Yes Bank Credit Card Offers

Yes Bank appears to have sent personalized offers to select cardholders that provide accelerated reward points for spends made between 22 August 2017 and 31 August 2017. I hold a Yes Bank Preferred credit card but have not received a message yet — perhaps their system assumed I wouldn’t qualify as I’ve used the card for just Rs.100 so far.

100,000 Reward Points on Yes Bank Credit Card

Yes Bank Credit Cards – 10-Day Festive Spend Bonanza

Under the “10-Day Festive Spend Bonanza”, eligible cardmembers received two customized spend targets for their credit card. Meeting these targets during the offer period triggers accelerated reward points according to the assigned tier. Key details:

  • Maximum cap: 100,000 Reward Points
  • Offer period: 22 August 2017 to 31 August 2017
  • Reward fulfillment: Points to be credited by 31 October 2017

#1 Yes Prosperity Credit Cards – 3X & 5X Reward Points

#2 Yes First Credit Cards – 2X & 3X Reward Points

Example accelerated reward rates for Yes First cards when the 3X target is achieved:

  • Yes First Preferred: effective reward ~6%
  • Yes First Exclusive: effective reward ~7.5%
  • Estimated value scenario: potential savings of up to Rs.25,000 (based on large spends: Rs.4.2L on Yes First Preferred and Rs.3.35L on Yes First Exclusive)

Those are substantial rates, and while the required spends to reach the highest tiers are high, the promotion is among the more generous short-term offers seen in the industry, comparable to past high-multiplier reward promos. This type of campaign is typically run to boost monthly or quarterly spend-per-card metrics.

Yes Bank has been aggressive with credit card rewards lately; from a rewards perspective it’s positioning itself strongly in the market. If you’ve been considering a Yes Bank card for their rewards program, this type of offer is a reason to think about applying.

How the offer works

The examples below illustrate how customized targets and accelerated multipliers apply. Actual assigned targets vary by cardmember.

Example for a YES FIRST Exclusive cardholder assigned Target 1 = INR 20,000 and Target 2 = INR 40,000:

  1. Scenario 1: If the cardmember spends INR 30,000 (exceeds Target 1): The standard earning at 10 RP per INR 100 would be 3,000 RP. With the offer applying a 2X multiplier, the cardmember would receive 6,000 RP for the spend during the offer period.
  2. Scenario 2: If the cardmember spends INR 50,000 (exceeds Target 2): The standard earning would be 5,000 RP. With the 3X multiplier for hitting Target 2, the cardmember would receive 15,000 RP during the offer period.
  3. Scenario 3: If the cardmember spends INR 10,000: They would earn 1,000 RP at the standard rate and would not qualify for the Bonanza accelerated reward points.

If you haven’t received an SMS or email about this offer, it may be because assignments were personalized. I will update this article when I have more information; a phone banker indicated their systems should have complete details by the morning of 23 August. Follow the issuer’s official channels for the fastest updates.

For those who did receive the offer — enjoy your accelerated points and the possibility of up to 100k reward points.

  • Update: Only cards active on or before 31 July were eligible (one month vintage required).
  • Update: The offer was restarted later for 20–30 September with minor term changes.

Note: This summary is based on the offer terms provided by the issuer and customer reports. Offer mechanics and eligibility were determined by Yes Bank’s communicated terms at the time.
