I recently had a three-hour transit at Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore, and was surprised to find a new transit lounge in the airport’s arrivals hall. The lounge is operated by GVK, the same team behind Mumbai T2, and the interior design looked impressive.

The lounge appears to have opened recently and currently serves only transit passengers. To gain access you may need to show details of both your arriving and departing flights. This restriction helps keep the space focused on connecting travelers.
GVK Transit Lounge Access:
At the moment the lounge does not accept card-based access; staff told me they are working on implementing card access in the future. For now it operates on a pay-in basis only. It’s unclear if access via membership programs will be allowed long-term, but initially it is limited to paid entry for transit passengers.

The reception team was newly appointed and had limited information when I asked questions, so some operational details remain unclear. It’s reasonable to expect that programs like Priority Pass or Diners Club might be accepted later, while general card schemes typically used for departure lounge access—such as certain MasterCard and Visa programs—may not be prioritized for this transit facility.

Because card access is not currently available, the lounge was quiet during my visit and largely empty aside from staff. The lounge sits in an open area of the arrivals hall, so it is not fully soundproof and can feel exposed compared with departure-area lounges inside security.
I already have complimentary access to two domestic departure lounges inside the secure area—Plaza Premium Lounge and Above Ground Levell Lounge—so I didn’t pay to use the new transit lounge. I took a few photos, then moved on to the Above Ground Levell Lounge, which I had recently reviewed.
