March: Get 30% Off Club Vistara Points Redemptions

Many frequent flyers know that award redemptions such as JPMiles or Jet Airways Business Class can offer excellent value, but Vistara’s CV Points are often overlooked despite offering similarly strong value for travel.

Earning CV Points is somewhat limited because only a few Vistara co-branded credit cards directly award them, and transferring points from other cards rarely makes economic sense. For that reason, Vistara redemptions don’t get as much attention.

Right now there’s a chance to redeem using 30% fewer CV Points than usual. This is the offer I received from Vistara today:

Offer Details

  • Offer valid for redemption of Award Flights between 7th March 2019 and 31st March 2019.
  • Applicable for select destinations for bookings and travel within the specified dates.
  • Valid across all cabin classes on the Vistara network.
  • Limited seats are available under this offer.
  • If an Award Flight is reissued after the offer period, standard redemption rates will apply.
  • Offers are subject to change without notice, cannot be combined with other promotions, and have no cash value.

Below is the list of eligible destinations and the CV Points required.

List of destinations and CV Points

Because award space under this promotion is reasonably accessible, I recently booked BOM–DEL and DEL–MAA in Premium Economy for 13,000 CV Points + Rs.700. I then upgraded both tickets to Business Class using one-class upgrade vouchers awarded with CV Gold membership from the Axis Vistara Infinite credit card.

The redemption process was smooth and straightforward. If your route is covered by the promotion, the 30% points reduction is definitely worth considering.

Bottomline

Although the destinations included in the 30% promotion are not the most popular, certain sectors—particularly Chennai–Port Blair—offer excellent value per point.

For example, I checked Premium Economy for 20 March on the MAA–IXZ sector and found fares around Rs.7,999. That equates to roughly Rs.1.50 per CV Point, making it a compelling option if you’re planning a trip to the Andamans.

Separately, it would be great to see Vistara increase point-earning rates on their co-branded cards—for instance, raising the earn rate on the Vistara Infinite card from 6 Points per Rs.200 to 8 Points per Rs.200.
