RBL Diwali 2025 Offer: Win iPhone 17 Pro Max on Card Spends

In past years RBL Bank often ran spend-based Diwali offers for select cardholders, where meeting a spending threshold would earn a voucher or reward — for example, the Amazon Echo Dot promotion in 2022. Those targeted campaigns were common during the festive season.

I did not notice similar targeted promotions during the 2024 festive season, suggesting the bank skipped these campaigns last year. For 2025, RBL has brought back a festive promotion, but this year’s format will appeal to very few cardholders.

RBL’s 2025 promotion is a “Top Spender Campaign.” These programs name a small set of highest spenders as winners and award them high-value prizes. From a consumer perspective, I find this structure problematic for two reasons: one, there is often uncertainty about whether the bank will fully deliver the promised rewards; and two, many cardholders who increase spending in expectation of a prize can end up with no guaranteed return.

I personally tested a similar top-spender program on Yes Bank cards a few years ago and found the approach to be unreliable and not worth the extra spending. Such experiments show why guaranteed, transparent rewards are preferable.

If you’re still interested, here’s what RBL is offering this year:

The campaign’s headline prize is an iPhone Pro Max 256GB for the top 10 spenders. That’s an attractive prize for the winners, but it’s a winner-takes-all model that provides no assured return to most participants. A clearer and fairer model would be guaranteed rewards at set spend thresholds — for example, a guaranteed gift like AirPods for spending a defined amount — which gives all qualifying cardholders a transparent return on their spending.

Additionally, top-spender contests may conflict with consumer promotion rules in some states — Tamil Nadu is one example — so this format can be legally sensitive as well.

How to Enroll?

RBL provides multiple enrollment channels, including web, phone, and SMS. The simplest option is to give a missed call to 9355081748 to register. After enrollment you should receive an immediate acknowledgement SMS confirming your registration.

In my case I received an instant SMS but did not get the promised second confirmation within 24 hours. Below is the acknowledgement screenshot I received on registration.

You can attempt to enroll even if you haven’t received a formal email from RBL yet, but final eligibility is determined by targeted communications the bank sends out. That targeted email confirms whether your card or account is included in the campaign.

Given the relatively low reward rates on some RBL credit cards, such as the RBL World Safari, targeted offers can be useful — provided they are fair and transparent. Unfortunately, the “top spender” model used this year does not meet that standard for most cardholders.
