American Express has once again partnered with ICICI Bank to reward cardholders who use ICICI-issued Amex co-branded cards. Similar to previous promotions, this offer provides Taj Experiences e-gift cards for meeting specified spending thresholds. Below are the key details and context for the promotion.

ICICI Bank – Amex Taj E-Gift Card Offer
- Offer: Spend and receive a complimentary Taj Experiences e-gift card worth up to Rs. 5,000.
- Spend criteria: Spend Rs. 50,000 to receive a Rs. 2,000 Taj voucher, or spend Rs. 100,000 to receive a Rs. 5,000 voucher.
- Excluded spend type: Wallet loads are excluded from eligible spend.
- Offer reward rate: Effectively 4–5% back in gift card value, in addition to the regular points or JPMiles earned on the card.
- Eligible cards: All ICICI American Express co-branded cards, including Jet-branded Amex cards.
- Offer period: 5 October – 5 November 2019.
- Fulfillment: Vouchers to be issued by 31 December 2019.
- How to register: Register for the offer by giving a missed call to 7069666887.
- Offer terms and conditions
When combined with regular card rewards, the total effective return on eligible spend can reach roughly 6% with many cards, which is a strong value proposition. This structure is more straightforward than some competing offers that require a larger share of offline spending to qualify.

Bottomline
ICICI frequently notifies cardholders of these spend-based promotions at short notice. In this instance, some cardholders may not receive an email notification even if they hold multiple ICICI Amex co-branded cards, such as the Emeralde Amex or Coral Amex.
However, this promotion is not targeted and is open to all eligible cardholders who register via the missed-call number above, so lack of an email should not prevent participation.
It remains to be seen whether ICICI will also launch a similar promotion for debit cardholders, as they did with other brand-specific offers in past years.
