Vistara Business Class Review: Mumbai to Hyderabad Experience

I recently flew Vistara Business Class from Mumbai to Hyderabad (BOM–HYD). Below is a concise, natural review of that short hop and my observations.

Booking

  • Revenue fare: ~18,000 INR
  • Paid using: Business Class voucher issued by Axis Vistara Infinite

This trip was booked entirely online using Vistara’s voucher system for the first time. The process was straightforward and quick. In the past I often called Vistara to confirm award seat availability and complete bookings by phone, but doing it online worked well for this flight.

One thing I’ve noticed recently is that award seat availability is far more limited than before the pandemic. Finding seats within a week of travel has become tougher, and I had to adjust my dates to match what was available. Premium economy availability is also more constrained on many routes, which can be inconvenient for cardholders or travelers looking for that option.

Lounge Access

For this departure I had access to the Adani Lounge at Mumbai T2, formerly the GVK lounge. The lounge includes a dedicated business section and an express check-in counter for business class passengers.

I spent some time in the Adani lounge but preferred the Amex lounge for most of my wait because it felt quieter and more peaceful. Both lounges offer a comfortable pre-flight experience, though your preference may vary depending on crowd levels and timing.

Food

The vegetarian meal served on board was piping hot and the paneer tikka was especially enjoyable. One of the side items — a potato preparation — didn’t stand out as much compared to the paneer and chana, but everything was fine for a short domestic flight. The dessert was tasty, as expected.

Bottom line

Overall, flying Vistara Business Class remains an enjoyable experience. Service quality on this flight felt consistent with past expectations, though award seat availability has clearly tightened compared to pre-COVID times. I haven’t noticed a major decline in standards on this sector, but others have reported mixed experiences, so continued travel will reveal broader trends.

How has your recent experience with Vistara been? Have you noticed changes compared with pre-COVID days? Feel free to share your observations below.
