The HDFC Regalia Credit Card is a super-premium card that carries a prestigious status and is generally aimed at high net-worth individuals or customers with strong relationships with the bank. It comes loaded with benefits, an attractive rewards structure and several travel- and lifestyle-oriented privileges. Reward points accrue on every eligible spend and can be redeemed for mobile/DTH recharge, hotel and flight bookings, or transferred to airline programs. The card is especially valuable for frequent spenders who can accumulate meaningful rewards over the year.
HDFC Regalia Credit Card – Indulge in Luxury
For high monthly spenders the Regalia card can deliver substantial value. For example, some cardholders channel large portions of their business expenses through the card and redeem the accumulated points for flight tickets and hotel stays, effectively offsetting travel costs. Strategic use of the card’s accelerated reward categories and redemption partners enhances the overall value.
HDFC Regalia Credit Card Reward Points
The Regalia rewards program can seem complex at first, but its basics are straightforward. The card typically awards 4 reward points for every Rs.150 of eligible spend. Select categories — such as dining, certain airline bookings and purchases made on the Regalia portal — earn accelerated rewards, effectively doubling the rate to 8 points per Rs.150 in those categories.
To illustrate potential savings, consider Rs.1,00,000 of spending in a year:
- Normal rewards (4 RP per Rs.150) = approximately 2,664 points, valued at roughly Rs.1,998 (~2% value)
- Accelerated rewards (8 RP per Rs.150) = approximately 5,328 points, valued at roughly Rs.3,996 (~4% value)
These estimates show that, depending on category mix and redemption choices, you can realize up to around 4% effective value on accelerated categories and about 2% on standard spending. Actual value depends on how you redeem points and which partners you use.
Redeeming Regalia Reward Points
Reward points are typically converted into Regalia vouchers and redeemed through the Regalia portal. While vouchers are restricted to purchases on that portal rather than direct cashback to your account, the portal offers many practical options including mobile/DTH recharges, hotel and flight bookings, and entertainment. Points can also be transferred to frequent flyer programs at partner conversion rates (for example, transfers to certain airline programs or voucher redemptions for specific carriers), providing alternative redemption routes that may suit travel-focused cardholders.
Lounge Access
Priority Pass: The Regalia card has historically included complimentary Priority Pass lounge entries. Under many plans, cardholders receive a set number of free Priority Pass visits annually, and add-on cardholders may receive access allowances as well. Cardholders must present the Priority Pass for entry where accepted.
Visa/MasterCard Lounges: The card also provides complimentary lounge access through Visa or MasterCard lounge programs, usually allowing a limited number of complimentary visits per quarter. These accesses typically require presenting the primary Regalia card for entry.
Note: Lounge benefit policies and the number of complimentary visits are subject to change; check current terms with the bank or your card documentation.
