One morning I realised I had been neglecting the blog for far too long. Not only had I delayed publishing new content, but I had also failed to say thank you to the many readers and contributors who have supported CardExpert without expecting anything in return.
Before I go further you might reasonably ask:
“Why was CardExpert largely inactive for a long time?”
Why the delay?
There isn’t a single reason. Life and circumstances combined to keep me away from regular publishing. One of the main reasons was an intensive travel schedule throughout 2023. Between frequent trips and commitments abroad, I simply couldn’t dedicate the time needed to manage the blog consistently.
During this period I continued to enjoy the points and miles lifestyle in different cities around the world, but as travel patterns settle back to a more normal rhythm, I decided it was time to return to the blog and reconnect with the community. In particular, I wanted to acknowledge those readers and contributors who kept the site alive with helpful comments and engagement while I was away.
The reward
To recognise loyal contributors, I reviewed activity from April 2019 through December 2023. Winners were selected based on multiple factors, with the number and usefulness of comments being primary considerations, along with overall contribution to discussions. This timeframe spans more than four years — I realised it has been over four years since the last giveaway in April 2019.
Seeing that gap made me feel like I had woken up from a long sleep. It also highlighted how important community participation has been in keeping CardExpert relevant and useful to new readers.
Below is the list of loyal contributors and the rewards they’ll receive. These selections reflect consistent, thoughtful engagement over the chosen period and acknowledge the practical value those contributors added to the site.

You may notice that some of the winners haven’t been active recently. That only reinforces a simple truth: karma and appreciation sometimes arrive later than expected, but they still arrive. Their past contributions mattered and are worth recognising now.
Every helpful comment, insightful reply and friendly correction adds real value to the blog. New readers benefit from your experience, and longtime readers benefit from the sense of community you help create. While I hesitate to call this a grand giveaway, the greater generosity sits with those of you who consistently help others without asking for anything in return.
