HDFC Diners Club 10X Reward Points Offer

The 10X rewards program has three distinct components. Each component has its own rules and validity period. Below are the latest updates and practical tips to help you maximize your chances of getting the additional reward points credited.

#1 Direct Partner Websites

• The direct partners component has been extended until 30 April 2018.
• It is likely this will be extended again; there is a reasonable expectation the extension could reach up to 30 September 2018 as partner relationships are finalized.
• A few partners have been removed, notably Caratlane and Luxhues. No other major removals have been reported.
• Current direct 10X partners include:
  • Domino’s (Online + Offline Partner)
  • Tata CLiQ
  • Lifestyle (Offline Partner)
  • BigBasket

  • Redbus (No more App-only requirement)

#2 SmartBuy Transactions

• The SmartBuy component has been extended until 30 September 2018.
• UPDATE: Reward points will also be credited for EMI transactions made on or after 1 April 2018.
• This component covers purchases made via the SmartBuy portal as well as certain transactions routed through third-party merchants like Flipkart and Amazon.
• Third-party transactions can be inconsistent in terms of points crediting. To improve the likelihood that points are correctly credited, follow these practical steps:
  1. Disable any ad-blockers or tracker-blocking browser extensions before starting the transaction.
  2. Always begin from the official HDFC Bank page that links to SmartBuy. Use that link to reach the SmartBuy portal rather than navigating directly to SmartBuy or the merchant site.
  3. Only add items to your merchant cart after you have been redirected from the SmartBuy link. Do not pre-add items before initiating the SmartBuy redirect.
  4. Keep evidence of the completed order. For merchants that display both the SmartBuy and merchant logos on the order confirmation page, capture a screenshot. For merchants that do not include visible logos (for example, some Amazon pages), consider recording a short video for high-value purchases.
• These suggestions are based on long-term personal experience with online shopping and affiliate portal behavior. They do not guarantee points in every case, but they significantly increase the chances of successful crediting.
• In my own experience, after following these practices, 9X or similar bonus points were frequently credited within the same month or within about 12 days, even though official communications may say point posting can take up to 90 days. Timelines in practice have varied and are subject to change.

#3 International Transactions

• The international transactions component is extended until 30 June 2018.
• This applies to both online and offline transactions made in foreign currency. When combined with HDFC’s Global Value Program, international spending can deliver very attractive reward rates for travelers.
