I recently reviewed a travel-oriented credit card from American Express, the MakeMyTrip co-branded card. This card is designed for frequent travelers and offers attractive booking benefits on MakeMyTrip. While it is not a premium card, it can deliver solid value for cardholders who spend around Rs. 2.5 lakh annually, especially on travel bookings through MakeMyTrip.

If you reach the Rs. 2.5 lakh annual spend milestone, you would receive vouchers totalling Rs. 9,000 that can be used for flights and hotels on MakeMyTrip. The card produces the best value when used for flight bookings; for hotels I personally prefer other platforms, but the vouchers are redeemable across MakeMyTrip services.
Beyond vouchers, payback points convert to roughly 1.25% value when used on MakeMyTrip and about 0.5% value on other spends. That translates to an overall reward rate in the range of approximately 3.7% on regular spending and up to about 4.4% for MakeMyTrip spending. When you include the additional 5% cashback on MakeMyTrip bookings, the effective value from MakeMyTrip transactions can be significantly higher.
