IDFC Bank recently rolled out its private banking suite and related premium products, including enhanced debit offerings. Until now, a dedicated premium credit card for private banking hadn’t been visible—until the appearance of the IDFC FIRST Private Credit Card.
At first glance the card presents a clean, simple design in the bank’s signature red. It looks promising; personally I prefer the black IDFC First private debit card design, but the credit card’s minimalist look should appeal to many premium customers.
BookMyShow Offer
A BookMyShow offer associated with this card provides notable value. Key points of the offer include:
- Up to INR 750 off on movies and on F&B or non-movie transactions, twice a month when paying with the IDFC FIRST Private Credit Card.
- The maximum discount per transaction is the actual transaction amount or INR 750, whichever is lower. The maximum number of discounted transactions per month is two.
- The offer applies to movies, F&B, events, concerts, plays, sports and activities.
- For non-movie transactions under INR 750 where no convenience fee is charged, customers must select “BookASmile” and make a minimum payment of INR 1 to avail the offer.
- The offer does not apply to BMS Stream.
- Food combos must be purchased within the same movie transaction to qualify for the discount and are available only at select cinemas; they are not available for non-movie bookings.
In effect this functions as a 100% discount up to INR 750, twice a month. That amounts to up to INR 1,500 monthly or INR 18,000 annually in potential savings—quite substantial for regular moviegoers and occasional event attendees.
This benefit compares favorably to other premium offerings such as the Aurum card, largely because the IDFC FIRST Private card also covers F&B purchases as part of the discount.

Thanks to Dillip for spotting and sharing the offer.
My Thoughts
Currently I often use Aurum or Visa Infinite offers on BookMyShow, but even with those cards you usually spend at least around INR 300 when adding snacks. The IDFC Private offer stands out because it appears to cover the entire movie ticket and F&B spend—potentially even the convenience fee—requiring only a token payment (INR 1) for authentication. That makes it a very attractive benefit for frequent moviegoers.
I’d welcome similar dedicated entertainment benefits from other ultra-premium cards like HDFC Infinia. For now, the BookMyShow benefit is the most concrete detail available about the IDFC FIRST Private Credit Card. We’ll monitor further announcements to see what additional perks and features the bank introduces for its affluent customers.
