I recently spent a weekend at Kochi Marriott Hotel while in Kerala. Since I had already seen most of Kochi and planned to catch movies at Lulu Mall, staying at the Marriott—located right behind the mall—made perfect sense. Below is a concise, natural review of my stay.

Location
Kochi Marriott sits in the same compound as Lulu Mall, with its own separate entrance. The close proximity to the mall makes it an excellent choice for shopping, dining, or catching a movie without worrying about long transfers.

Booking
- Revenue rate: ~8500 INR
- Points used: 12,500 Marriott Points
Redeeming 12,500 points for a stay that included breakfast and executive lounge access felt like a good value. If you have elite status or points to use, it’s a solid redemption option.
Lobby & Checkin
The lobby is spacious and lively, with seating areas and some decorative design elements. In the evening there’s often live music, which adds to the atmosphere. Check-in was quick, and I was welcomed with a drink.
I requested an upgrade with lounge access and received it thanks to Gold Elite status; the room was conveniently located on the same floor as the lounge.

The Room
My upgraded room felt premium, though not significantly larger than a standard room. It was well-appointed and comfortable, with modern finishes and a pleasant view over nearby Kerala-style houses.

Executive Lounge
The executive lounge is one of the largest I’ve seen in India. It offers abundant seating, a separate business area with computers and printing facilities, and a very large dining section that resembles a restaurant.
Throughout the day the lounge provides snacks and cold drinks. In the evening there is a generous spread that functions like a dinner buffet, with starters, mains, fruits, juices and desserts. The lounge staff were attentive and friendly; one staff member shared a few local tidbits during our visit.

If you prefer a visual tour, there was a short video showcasing the lounge during my stay.
Food
I chose to have breakfast in the main restaurant rather than the lounge. The restaurant offered a wide variety, though it was quite busy during peak hours. Next time I would likely use the lounge for breakfast to avoid the crowds.
In-room dining was efficient and the food was tasty. I tried a pizza during my stay that was freshly prepared and satisfying.

Buggy Service
The hotel provides a complimentary buggy to take guests to Lulu Mall, which is roughly 400 meters away. During my stay, the staff arranged a car instead of the buggy, which worked well and got me to the mall quickly.

The mall includes a PVR Gold class cinema, which made the movie experience enjoyable. Overall, the hotel’s location and transport convenience are strong selling points for a short stay focused on shopping or entertainment.
Bottomline
For a weekend focused on shopping or catching movies at Lulu Mall, Kochi Marriott is an ideal choice thanks to its location and comfortable facilities. If you plan to explore other parts of Kochi rather than the mall, there are cheaper options in the city to consider.
- CardExpert Rating: 4.2/5
As a small aside, the mall, this hotel and Grand Hyatt Kochi Bolgatty share common ownership. For those who collect rewards, redeeming points for stays like this can stretch value—my stay was one way I maximize Amex Membership Rewards value.
