Axis Vistara Card – Review
Milestone benefits on Vistara Platinum Credit Card:
Spend on the Axis Bank Vistara credit card and you qualify for milestone rewards as follows:
- Spend Rs. 50,000 – 1,000 CV Points
- Spend Rs. 1,25,000 – 1 economy class ticket
- Spend Rs. 2,50,000 – 1 economy class ticket
- Also earn: 2 CV Points for every Rs. 200 spent
These complimentary tickets are attractive, but keep in mind you will typically pay about Rs. 1,000 extra as taxes and fees when redeeming them.
Including the welcome bonus, if you spend around Rs. 2.5 lakh in a year you will receive:
- 2 economy class tickets (milestone rewards) + 3,500 CV Points
- Tip: CV points can be used to upgrade to a higher class
To estimate value, I used the BLR→DEL route and compared typical fares and redemption costs:
- Approximate cost for 2 paid (revenue) tickets: ~Rs. 6,000
- Approximate cost to redeem 2 complimentary tickets (taxes/fees): ~Rs. 2,000
- Estimated savings: ~Rs. 4,000 (may be less depending on dates and availability)
Put another way, spending Rs. 2.5 lakh to save roughly Rs. 4,000 equates to under 1.6% effective value back. That can be a reasonable return for someone who specifically wants Vistara benefits, but there are higher-return cards if your priority is pure value. For example, some premium cards can deliver around 3% value back that can be redeemed for revenue tickets without navigating milestone rules. Still, the comparison depends on card class and your travel preferences.
Features of Axis Vistara Card:
- CardExpert Rating: 3.5/5
- Reward rate: Up to ~1.6% effective return via complimentary tickets (varies with redemption)
- Complimentary airport lounge access: 2 visits per quarter via Visa Lounge Access program
- Fuel surcharge waiver: Nil
- Foreign exchange markup fee: 3.5% + applicable taxes
- Renewal fee waiver: Nil
- Special features: Club Vistara membership and travel insurance protection
This is a straightforward, entry-level travel card that can deliver meaningful value for Vistara flyers, particularly on long-distance routes where the voucher value is higher. On short-haul flights the effective value drops and may fall to around 1% or lower, so assess your typical travel patterns before choosing this card.
