Earn 1,000 Monthly Reward Points with HDFC Premium Credit Cards

Recently I requested HDFC to send the detailed breakup of reward points earned on my Diners Black credit card and was surprised to see two separate credits of 1,000 points each. Customer care representatives were unable to explain the entries, so I dug deeper and found the explanation in an email from HDFC.

Get 1000 Reward Points Every Month on HDFC Premium Credit Cards

Welcome Offer on HDFC Bank Credit Cards

  1. Use your HDFC Bank credit card five times in a month with a minimum transaction of Rs. 1,000 each, and receive 1,000 bonus reward points every month for one year.
  2. The offer runs for 12 months, starting from the month following card delivery.
  3. The offer applies to Regalia, Regalia First, Business Regalia, Diners Black, Diners Rewards, Diners Premium and Infinia credit cards.
  4. The promotion is valid for cards sourced until 30th September 2016.
  5. Actual offer source was communicated by HDFC in their promotional materials.

I was fortunate to have applied and received my card before the cutoff, which means I’ll be eligible for up to 12,000 bonus points over the year. On Diners Black, where 1 reward point typically equals Rs. 1 when redeemed on the Diners portal, that can translate to roughly Rs. 12,000 in value. Naturally, I’m keen to preserve and redeem these points carefully.

If you missed the deadline for this specific promotion, there’s nothing you can do now, but many cardholders may not be aware of such offers—this is simply a reminder to check promotional terms when you receive a new card. When you spot similar limited-time promotions, it’s often worthwhile to apply in advance to secure the benefit.

HDFC periodically runs attractive signup and usage promotions. For example, they have previously offered triple points for the first three months on certain online applications. These short-term incentives can be very valuable, so monitor HDFC card offers or the card issuer’s communications to catch them early.

Note: If you need a detailed reward points breakup, you can request it from HDFC customer care; they can email or provide the statement on request.
